Kuwait Pavillon ”The Visionary Lighthouse”, Expo Osaka

For the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, NUSSLI, as an expert in the realisation of national pavilions, built the Kuwait pavilion as a total contractor.
For the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, NUSSLI realised the Kuwait pavilion ‘The Visionary Lighthouse’ as total contractor. The pavilion combines modern architecture with traditional Kuwaiti elements and makes a striking cultural statement. On 2450 m² of exhibition space, a place was created that combines history, innovation and vision.

Architecture meets culture
The design of the pavilion is the result of an international collaboration: LAVA is responsible for the architecture, Insglück for the exhibition concept and Schlaich Bergermann for the structural design. The centrepiece is a domed room that is reminiscent of the experience of lingering under the starry sky in the desert. The inner courtyard with Kuwaiti planting picks up on elements of Islamic architecture - an atmospheric interplay of light, space and culture.

Sustainable realisation and operation
In addition to planning and construction, NUSSLI is also responsible for the operation of the pavilion during the Expo and its sustainable dismantling afterwards. Installation on site began in January 2024, with the opening taking place in April 2025, resulting not only in an architectural highlight, but also a responsibly implemented overall project in the spirit of sustainability.
